The trend in today’s competitive environment is to provide high quality low priced diverse products and quick response to customer demands. In order to become a worldwide company, an effective simplification of workflow and elimination of wastemust be the targets for all manufacturers. This is exactly what the lean philosophy tries to achieve. Value Stream Mapping is a way to allow users to understand where they are and what wasteful acts need to be eliminated. In another words, value stream mapping is used to see value, waste, and also the sources of waste in a value stream. Value stream mapping is gaining acceptance as a valuable tool for manufacturers of all types. In this paper, a value stream mapping study as a project to achieve lean manufacturing has been carried out to meet customer’s expectations in UZEL Co., one of the biggest companies in the world for tractor manufacturing sector. Günümüz rekabet ortamında eğilim, müşteri talebine hızlı cevap vermek ve yüksek kaliteli, düşük fiyatlı ürünler sunmaktır. Dünya çapında firma olmak için israfı ortadan kaldırmak ve etkin bir işakışı gerçekleştirmek tüm yönetcilerin hedefi olmalıdır. Bu, tam olarak yalın üretim felsefesinin ulaşmaya çalıştığı hedeftir. Değer akışı haritalandırma, kullanıcılara ne durumda olduklarını ve hangi israf yaratan faaliyetlerin ortadan kaldırılması gerektiğini anlamalarına olanak sağlar. Diğer bir deyişle, değer akışı haritalandırma, bir değer akışı üzerindeki değer, israf ve israf kaynaklarını görmek için kullanılır. Değer akışı haritalandırma, her imalatçı için başvurulan değerli bir araçtır. Bu çalışmada, dünya traktör imalatı sektöründe en büyük firmalardan biri olan UZEL A.Ş.’de müşteri beklentilerini karşılamak üzere yalın üretim projesi dahilinde bir değer akışı haritalandırma çalışması yürütülmüştür. Önerilen gelişmeler ve beklenilen faydalar, çalışmanın sonuçları olarak yöneticilere sunulmuştur.
