Project team consisting of members from various departments, is called project development team or cross functional team. These teams enhance success by making quick decisions and finding solutions to problems encountered. Within the enterprise, effective communication between members, development of motivation and the support of top management improve the success of these teams. Accordingly, product quality is enhanced; customer satisfaction and efficiency are improved. In the context of this study, a field research covering 52 companies operating in ceramic industry has been carried out. Data obtained as a result of field research were assessed using statistical program SPSS 15.0. Within the scope of assessment, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation and regression analysis were made. When the analysis findings wereexamined, a positive relation between the organizational features of establishment (support of top management, communication and motivation) and the success of product development teams has been detected.

Çeşitli fonksiyonel alanlardan üyeleri kapsayan proje ekibi, ürün geliştirme ekibi veya çapraz fonksiyonel ekip olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Bu ekipler, hızlı kararlar vererek ve karşılaşılan problemlere çözüm üreterek, ürün geliştirme çalışmalarının başarısını artırmaktadır. İşletmede, üyeler arasındaki etkin iletişim, üyelerin motivasyonunun artırılması ve üst yönetimin desteği bu ekiplerin başarısını artırmaktadır. Buna bağlı olarak da ürünlerin kalitesi iyileşmekte, müşteri tatmini artmakta ve verimlilik artışı gözlenmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında, işletmenin örgütsel özellikleri ile ürün geliştirme ekiplerinin başarısı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla seramik sektöründe faaliyet gösteren 52 firmayı kapsayan bir saha araştırması yapılmıştır. Saha araştırmasından elde edilen veriler SPSS 15.0 istatistik programı kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirme kapsamında faktör analizi, güvenilirlik analizi, korelasyon ve regresyon analizi yapılmıştır. Analiz bulguları incelendiğinde, işletmenin örgütsel özellikleri (üst yönetimin desteği, iletişim ve motivasyon ) ile ürün geliştirme ekiplerinin başarısı arasında pozitif yönde bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir
