Training oftrainers (TOT) programs and the evaluation of Üs effects in İstanbul Faculty of Medicine. This report aims to present an assessment of the impact of the "Training of Trainers -TOT" courses vvhich have been condueted since 1997. The long-term effects of TOT prog-raınmes were assessed through a self-Fılled qucstİonnaire given to the course participants fol-lowing a minimum period of six montlı after completion of the TOT course. The 86 participants were medical teachers from the istanbul Faculty of Medicine were ineluded in this analysİs. Tvventy percent were instructors, 38 % were associate professors and 42 % wcre full professors. Seventy two percent of the medical teachers stated that they were able to imple-meııt the knowIedge/skills they had acquired during the TOT course in their teaching. The ma-jority of participants who attended the course reported more fcedback from the studcnts and enhancement of student-faculty interaetion. While fhese results appear lo be promising and se-em to indicate that TOT courses have a long lasting impact, one must not forget that these results are based on the views expressed by the teachers. However, these courses doubtless serve to motivate the teaching staff and to provide tlıem with opportunities for more efficient teaching.

Bu araştırmada 1997 yılından beri yürütülen "Eğitici Eğitimi" kurslarının etkilerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Eğitici eğitimi kurslarının uzun erimli etkilerini değerlendirme, kursa katılnndan cn az 6 ay sonra uygulanan bir görüşme formu ile İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi'nde görev yapan 86 öğretim üyesinin görüşleri alınarak gerçekleştirildi. Katılanların %20'si uzman, %38'i doçent ve %42'si profesördü. Öğretim üyelerinin %72'si kurs su'asında öğretilenleri işyerlerinde kullanabildiklerini belirttiler. Kurstan sonra öğrencilerin soru sorması, geri bildirimde bulunması gibi öğrencilerle etkileşimin arttığını söyleyen görüşler çoğunluktadır. Araştırmamızın, kursun kalıcı etkilerini belirlemede kurs bitiminde yapılan değeriendirmelerden daha değerli olduğunu düşünsek de bu etkilere yine de temkinli yaklaşmak daha doğru olacaktır. Çünkü araştırma öğretim üyelerinin görüşlerini yansıtmaktadır. Bununla birlikte Öğretim üyelerini motive etmekte ve yeni yaklaşımları kullanmalarına fırsat yaratmaktadır.
