SUMMARY Measurements ofupper lip units in normal individuals. Measurements of upper lip units were performed in 100 healthy individuals, aged between 18-30 years. The individuals were free of septum deviation, occlusal disorders and surgical interventions that could affect the upper lip unit. The aim of the measurement was to provide data to determine whether the width of philt-rum in adults who were operated for cleft lip-cleft palate in their childhood, was different from normal individuals or not and to determine how wide the philtrum should be kept during the first operation

Üst dudak ünitlerini etkileyecek girişimlerde bulunulmamış, septum deviasyonu ve kapanış bozukluğu olmayan 18-30 yaşları arasındaki 100 sağlıklı bireyde üst dudak ünitlerinin ölçümü yapıldı. Ölçümün amacı, ameliyat edilmiş erişkin dudak-damak yanklı hastalarda özellikle filtrum genişliğinin normal bireylere göre değişim gösterip göstermediğinin belirlenmesi, seçilen ameliyat yöntemi ve deformitenin tipine göre ilk ameliyat-sekonder revizyonlar esnasında filtrumun hangi genişlikte tutulması gerektiğinin belirlenmesi için veri tabanı oluşturmaktı.
