Abstract (2. Language):
Revision of myxedema coma: A case repon. Myxedema coma is an extreme complİcation of hypolhyroidism in which paticnts cxbibit multiple organ abnormaHtıcs and progressivc mental deterioratİon. It oecurs when the body's compensatory responses to hypothyroidism are overw-hclmcd by precipitating factor. While the aetual prevalenee of myxedema coma is unknown, its fatal nature demands recognİtİon. Even with early deteetion and appropriate treatment, its mortality is 50 percent on average. In this study, we report a patient with myxedema coma pre-sented with pericardial effusion and severe elcetrolyte abnormality.
