Abstract (2. Language):
The reliabilily ofîhîgh anthropomefıy as a predictor of body fat in obese women. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationships betvveen thigh anfhropometric parameters (femur skinfold thickness, midthigh circumferencc, total thigh area, thigh muscle and bone area and thigh subcutaneous adipose tissue) and body fat mass determined by bioeleclric impedance (BIA), BMI and weight in overweight and obese (body mass index, BMI >25 kg/m2) women. Study group is consisted of 115 subjecis. There werc signifİcant positive correlalions between Ihiglı fat mass and weight (r:.5831), BMI (r.5585), fat mass determined by bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) (r:.5073) ( p value is 0.000 for ali). The measurement of thigh parameters are likely to prove useful in clİnical evalualion and field studİes of body fat mass in obese women.
