Sıtdden in/ant death syndrome. Suddcn Infanl Death Syndrome (SIDS) İs defineci as the sud-den death of an infant that rcmaİns unexplained after a thorough case invcstigalion and is a majör causc of posfneonalal mortalİty in developed counlıies. Despite many ycaıs of research and numcrous tlıcories, il was impossİble to understand pathophysiology undcrlying SIDS and the causes of SIDS remained controversial yet. But numcreous risk factors may iııcrcase SIDS. Incidence of SIDS vvas rcduccd significantly with somc precautions conlrollîng the.se risk factors and back-lo-sleep canıpaigııs. Tn llıis arlicle, SIDS and possİblc risk factors believed to inercase the incidence of SIDS werc rcviewcd and the precautions to decreasc the dcalhs rela-led to SIDS was emphasized.
