Abstract (2. Language):
Paragangliomas are rare tumors which progress slowly. Paragangliomas are usually located at aortic bifurcation, foramen jugulare, aortic arch and retroperitoneum. Although abdominal pain is the most common symptom of retroperitoneal paraganglioma, symptoms can differ regarding the hormones secreted. Surgical resection and radiotherapy should be preferred for local treatment. The aim of this study is to present and discuss the approach to the paragangliomas with the light of a case with a 5x4x5 cm mass located between abdominal aorta and vena cava inferior who was receiving treatment for hypertension.
