Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this clinical sun'ey- study which was performed on 1266 Class II amalgam restorations was to asses the incidence of secondary caries and reccurent caries resultes by residuel caries which cause the replacement. The age, sex, icluded surfaces of the restoration, surface roughness and duration of the restoration, and the location of the caries were recorded. Data obtained were subjected to ( Chi square ) test following logistic regression analysis test. The results were as follows: The prevalances of secondary caries and residuel caries was 8,135% and 5,608% respectively. The incidence of caries had shown no statistically significant correlation to the age.sex, duration and surface roughness of restoration and the included surfaces of the restoration. The site of the dental arch did not influence the development of secondary caries and progress of the residuel caries. The incidences of secondary and residuel caries did not show any differences between the upper and lower jaws. Statistically significant increase in the incidence of secondary caries at the gingival margin of the restoration was notable in this study.
