Abstract (2. Language):
Alzheimer's disease is a cortical, degenerative, progressive brain disorder that gradually destroys a person's memory and ability to learn, make judgments, communicate and carry out daily activities. Cognitive and motor deficits may led difficulties to perform adequate oral hygiene and communicate discomforts such as pain or dysfunction. To maintain lifelong good oral health in this patients, regular dental care is a necessity. The most critical point is to sepecify the individual treatment needs for Alzheimer's patients. This review summarizes the causes, epidemiology diagnosis, and dental management of Alzheimer's disease.
