In this article Karl Popper's deductive methodology and its several criticisms are reviewed. In particular the possibilities of application of the falsification rule to economics are discussed. The relationship between the falsification rule and statistical hypothesis testing is examined within the framework of the thoughts of different statistics schools.

Bu makalede Popper 'in tümdengelimci yöntemi ve bu yöntemin çeşitli eleştirileri gözden geçirildi, özelinde yanhşlama kuralının iktisatta uygulanma olanakları tartışıldı. Çeşitli istatistik okulların bakışları çerçevesinde yanhşlama kuralı ile istatistiksel hipotez testinin ilişkisi incelendi.
