DÖVİZ KURU DEĞİŞKENLİĞİ VE YABANCI DOĞRUDAN YATIRIM AKIMLARI: TÜRKİYE ÖRNEĞİ

Journal Name:

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
The theoretical and empirical literature has reached ambiguous results for the relationship between volatility in real exchange rates and foreign direct investment (FDI) flows. This paper empirically investigates the impact of real exchange rate volatility on FDI flows into Turkey by developing panel data gravity models and time series traditional models. The results indicate that while there is no significant relationship between FDi flows and real exchange rate volatility, there exists a significant positive relationship between real exchange rates and FDI flows. A depreciation of host country's currency (Turkish Lira) leads to an increase in FDI flows into Turkey.
