Abstract (2. Language):
There are many epistemological dichotomies in contemporary philosophy such as foundationalism and anti-foundationalism, or objectivism and relativism. Taken by themselves in their exclusive and extreme forms, any one of them are neither epistemologically sound nor ethically saticfactory enough. In this case, there is a need for a new epistemological perspective; and we propose a "sophialogicaí" epistemology, which appeals to the epistemological problems from the perspective of wisdom or sophia. Sophialogical epistemology is dialectical rather than dichotomic, practical and ethical rather than solely theoretical and propositional, and complementary rather than compartmentalisation.

Çağdaş felsefede temelcilik ve anti-temelcilik ya da nesnelcilik ve görecilik gibi birçok epistemolojik dikotomi vardır. Dışlayıcı ve aşırı biçimleriyle tek başlarına ele alındıklarında bunların herhangi biri ne epistemolojik açıdan yeterince sağlam ne de ahlaki açıdan yeterince tatmin edicidir. Bu durumda yeni bir epistemolojik perspektife ihtiyaç vardır. Bu yazıda biz, epistemolojik problemlere bilgelik perspektifinden yaklaşan "sofyalojik" bir epistemoloji (bilgelikbilimsel bir bilgîkuramı) önerisinde bulunuyoruz. Sofyalojik epistemoloji; dikotomik değil diyalektik olan, sadece teorik ve önermesel değil pratik ve ahlaki yönelimi bulunan, ve ayrımlaşmacılıktan ziyade tamamlayıcılığı öne çıkaran bir epistemoloji yaklaşımı olma iddiasındadır.
