Abstract (2. Language):
The history of Turkish Journalism depends on the political and economical factors as other countries. Until 1970s Turkish Journalism was directed by the bosses who are journalists and they were interested in nothing but journalism. In 70s Journalism became a business that needed a huge amount of cahital. Then continuing the profession of journalism which had been free from the world of power and money became impossible for the owners of the newspapers who has no capital. In other words journalism became aproffession of the big capitalists, therefore monopolism emerged in this field. The bossess of the newspapers who are the owner of 60 percent of the media, become effective on everything related to the country. Consequently due to these facts the working conditions of media became worse and journalists lost their independence.
