Abstract (2. Language):
In this study we are going to discuss the following subtopics: the importance attached to language with the emergence of the press in Turkey, the studies in the field of the purification of Turkish Language, The place it occupied in the press, the reactions of Turkish intellectuals, the impact of Language Reform in the republican period, the road taken by TDK (Turkish Language Institute) which was founded by Atatürk, regarding the purification of Turkish Language, the period in which its works were most productive, the power Turkish Language has in terms of national and communicative functions of language, whether it was employed by the press sufficiently and if not the reasons for the inefficiency, and finally the rate (frequency) of the foreign words employed.
