In this study, St. Valentine's Day -rather the marketing of the day- is considered as a capitalist event.The basic idea of the study is that altough the instrumental structure of modernism leaves feelings out of rational system, İt use some of the feelings for the contuniation of the system.Wli.ile the Culture Industry gives form to all areas of the life in accordance with its own ideology, on the other hand it merchandises feelings too.Tlie basic strategies of modernism and global capitalism are to lead desire and to produce the will in independent areas. St. Valentine's Day seems as a sample of "merchandised" event in modern world. It makes necessary that a better point of view should be taken into consideration about power structuring in this constitution
