The Simpsons, an animated comedy popular not only in the US, but also many countries in the world, is supposed to reflect the values of dysfunctional American families. This paper analyzes the general aspects of the Simpson family, communication systems in The Simpsons and more specifically, the characteristics of Homer Simpson.

A.B.D'de olduğu kadar dünyanın pek çok ülkesinde de popüler olan; çizgi dizi The Simpsons'tn (Simpson Ailesi), işlevini yitirmiş Amerikan aile değerlerini yansıttığı düşünülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Simpson Ailesi'nin genel görünümü, dizideki iletişim sistemleri ve ağırlıklı olarak Homer Simpson'a özgü kişilik özellikleri ele alınacaktır.
