İKTİSAT DÜŞÜNCESİNDE KADININ KONUMU VE FEMİNİST İKTİSAT

Abstract (2. Language):
The aim of this study is to evaluate the criticism and suggestions of Feminist Economics on the understanding of the main-stream economics. The goal of feminist economists is not to form a female dominated economics theory. Their major aim is not to review the woman in economy but to review the economics involving woman‟s perspective. Feminist economists are of the opinion that the main-stream economic knowledge is based on gender discrimination and interested in male characteristics. Also, they claim that womens‟ experiences are not reflected in economics. They assume the possibility of knowledge application involving both male and female positive qualities to be more flawless, and think it compulsory to develop scientific methods including rationality, objectivity, universality as well as emotions, subjectivity and locality. However, from epistemological point of view, feminist analysis is devoid of the basis for a societal change.
