Son birkaç yıl zarfında, iyi bir orman yol sisteminin önemi, ma-kinalı istihsaldeki ilerlemelere, aynı zamanda tomruk üretimi işlerinin dikkate şayan rasyonalizasyonuna ve genel olarak ormancılığın gelişimine uygun olarak iyice belirginleşmiştir. Orman yol sistemine ilişkin pek çok sayıda sorunlar vardır. Bu sorunlardan en önemlisi, orman yol yapımının standardizasyonu olarak düşünülmektedir. Evvelce orman yol şebekesinin yapımına ilişkin herhangi bir yeterli orientation sözkonusu olduğunda, standart ya da optimum yol yoğunluğu hususunda akla yatkın olmıyan değerler önerilirdi.
