Abstract (2. Language):
This paper examines the evolutionary changes, social expectations and participatory opportunities in different social systems. General strategies for promoting social participation are discussed, and essential conditions of mass participation are defined. In addition to the conceptual and social features of participation, this paper systematized the types and forms of participation as well as private and social characteristics of participatory individuals and systems. Finally, social participation is discussed in the context of globalization ant sustainable development.

Bu çalışmada, değişik toplumsal sistemlerdeki evrimsel değişimler, toplumsal talepler ve kitlesel katılım olanakları irdelenmiştir. Toplumsal katılımın artırılabilmesinde uygulanabilecek genel değişim stratejilerine değinilmiş ve kitlesel katılımın temel şartları vurgulanmıştır. Katılımın kavramsal ve toplumsal özelliklerinin yanı sıra, türleri, biçimleri, katılımcı birey ve sistemlerinin özel ve sosyal nitelikleri sistematize edilmiştir. Çalışmanın son aşamasında, toplumsal katılımın küreselleşme ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma kavramları açısından önemi tartışılmış ve bu iki süreçteki yeri belirlenmiştir.
