Abstract (2. Language): 
Preservative-treated wood and wood preservatives contain components that may be toxic to non-target organisms if released into the environment in sufficient quantities. Numerous studies have been conducted to determine the effects of wood preservatives released from treated wood and the extent of their subsequent accumulation in the environment. This study reviews the environmental problems regarding wood preservatives and options for recycling treated wood retired from service.

Odunu biyotik ve abiyotik zararlılara karşı koruyan emprenye maddeleri ve emprenye edilmiş ağaç malzeme, bu koruyucu maddelerin belirli miktarlarda çevreye yayılması durumunda insanlara ve diğer organizmalara zararlı olabilmektedir. Bugüne kadar bu tip zararların neler olabileceği ve emprenye edilmiş odundan kaynaklanacak çevre problemlerinin azaltılması üzerine birçok çalışma yapılmıştır. Bu makalede günümüzde kullanılan emprenye maddelerinden doğan problemler ve hizmet ömrünü tamamlamış emprenye edilmiş ağaç malzeme ile ilgili çeşitli geri kazanım metodlan üzerinde durulmuştur.
