Current data indicate that the onset of social phobia starts from adolescence. The main purpose of this study is to investigate if the level of social phobia changes as a function of internal-external personality types, level of school achievement and sociodemographic factors, in a group of adolescents. The sample of the study consisted of private college students of44 girls and 59 boys with an age range of 13-17. Students were presented with a sociodemographic question form prepared by the researchers. Capa Social Phobia Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (CSPQ-CA) and Eysenck Personality Questionnaire-Extroversion subtest (EPQ-E). School achievement was measured through grand point average (GPA) and students' reports on how they perceived their level of achievement. Correlative results revealed a negative significant relationship between CSPQ-CA scores and EPQ-E. CSPQ-CA scores also turned out to change as a function of level of internal-external personality type, perceived school achievement and gender, which are in line with the expectations. It was also observed that students' GPA scores were consistent with their perceived level of achievement. Results were discussed within the scope of cognitive behavioral model on social phobia.

Sosyal fobinin başlangıcının erken ergenliğe dayandığına dair veriler bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, bir grup ergende sosyal fobi düzeyinin içe-dışa dönük kişilik özellikleri, okul başarı durumu ve sosyo-demograjikfaktörlere göre nasıl değiştiğini araştırmaktır. Çalışmanın örnekletil grubunu, İstanbul'da özel bir kolejde 13-17 yaş aralığtıulaki 44 kız ve 59 erkek gönüllü öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Öğrencilere, araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan ve sosyo-d&nograftk bilgileri içeren bir form İle ergenlerde sosyal fobi durumunu ölçen ÇAPA Çocuk ve Ergenler İçin Sosyal Fobi Ölçeği (ÇESFÖ) ve Eyseııck'in Kişilik Envanteri'tün Dışa Dönüklük alt testi (EKE-DD) verilmiştir. Ders başarı durumu öğrenci/erin kendi başarılarıyla ilgili algıları ve son dönemi de kapsayan ağırlıklı not ortalamaları Ölçüt alınarak değerlendirilmiştir. Korelasyon bulgularına göre, ÇESFÖ puanları ile EKE-DD puanları arasında negatif bir ilişki çıkmıştır. Ayrıca, ÇESFÖ puanlarının içe-dışa dönük kişilik özelliklerine, başarı algısı ve cinsiyete göre değiştiği tespit edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, beklentiler doğrultusundadır. Bu sonuçlar, Öğrencilerin başarılarını algılayış biçimleri ile not ortalaması İle ölçülen gerçek başarı düzeyleri arasında da herhangi bir uyumsuzluk olmadığının da ayrıca bulgulannıası açısından bilişsel-davranışçt kuram kapsamında tartışılmıştır
