This paper presents the results from a survey conducted among the members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TGNA), during its 22n d term in 2004. The survey included questions tapping parliamentarians’ attitudes about their roles and behaviors. This study consists of three sections. The first section provides a brief overview of the literature investigating the roles and behaviors in other parliamentary settings. Utilizing this literature, the second section provides an empirical analys is of the survey. The tables and charts are presented mostly including univariate statistics, to interpret the results. The final section discusses the implications of the results as they relate to the behavior of the members of the TGNA during its 22n d term.
