Abstract (2. Language): 
The subject of this study is how Ottoman women for the first time, obtained the right to attend university called İnas Darülfünunu, by the effect of the modernization movement and nationalist discourse on women and education in the second constitutional era. İn the light of the information we reached from magazines of the period as well as The Ottoman Archives of the Prime Ministry and Darülfünun itself altough its name has changed to University of İstanbul in time, this paper argues that the admission of Ottoman Women to university is not independent from the basic arguments of the time but on the contrary it is a part of the nation building and modernization process

Bu çalışmanın konusunu II. Meşrutiyet’teki modernleşme hareketi ve milliyetçi söylemin kadın ve eğitim konuları üzerindeki etkisiyle, Osmanlı kadınlarının ilk defa yükseköğrenim hakkını elde ettikleri İnas Darülfünunu oluşturmaktadır. Dönemin gazete ve dergileri, Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivleri ve adı sonradan İstanbul Üniversitesi olarak değişen Darülfünun’un kendi arşivlerinden yararlanarak yaptığımız çalışma sonucunda; kadınların üniversiteye kabul edilmelerinin, dönemin temel argümanlarından ayrı bir yerde durmayıp, modernleşme ve milli inşa sürecinin tam da merkezinde yer aldığı düşüncesine ulaşılmaktadır.
