Abstract (2. Language): 
The methodology of economics is the study of concepts, theories and the main principles of thought concerning the economics as a science. In this framework, the methodology of economics, which can be taken as the application of the philosophy of science to economics, includes an interdisciplinary inquiry that requires an understanding of the structure and the scope of economic thought by the help of the philosophy of science. However, both economists’ avoidance of arguments about economic methodology by various reasons and inordinate interest toward natural sciences that keeps scientific philosophers away from economics has led the divergence of economics from philosophy. In this study, the arguments about economic methodology will be addressed from Glenn Fox’s point of view. For this purpose, the subject matter of the methodology of economics will be stressed by considering the approaches concerning the theory appraisal in economics.

İktisat metodolojisi, iktisada ilişkin kavramların, teorilerin ve temel düşünce ilkelerinin sorgulanmasını kapsayan bir çalışma alanıdır. Bu çerçevede, bilim felsefesinin iktisada uygulanması olarak ele alabileceğimiz iktisat metodolojisi, iktisadi düşüncenin yapı ve kapsamının bilim felsefesi yardımıyla kavranmasını gerektiren disiplinler arası bir sorgulamayı içermektedir. Ancak gerek iktisatçıların çeşitli sebeplerle iktisatta yöntem tartışmalarından uzak durmaları, gerekse de doğa bilimlerine duydukları aşırı ilgi sebebiyle bilim felsefecilerinin iktisattan uzaklaşmaları iktisat ile felsefenin giderek birbirlerinden uzaklaşmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Glenn Fox’un bakış açısıyla iktisatta yöntem tartışmaları ele alınacaktır. Bu amaçla iktisatta teorilerin değerlendirilmesine ilişkin ileri sürülen yaklaşımlar irdelenerek iktisat metodolojisinin temel sorunsalı üzerinde durulacaktır.
