Abstract (2. Language):
Numerous questions arise emerging especially in the former negions of the Ottoman Empire and area of influence are subject to international attention. Among these questions the Cyprus question is of central importance. The solution, which the Turks and Turkish Cypriots want does not coincide with the solution the West wants. The question in Cyprus is all in all directly and entirely between the West and Turks and Turkish Cypriots. Thus'it is the "Western question" not the "Cyprus question" for Turkey and Turkish State of Cyprus. The question is discribed as Cyprus question, but in fact it is the question of "Turkisfi/East question" for the West. Turkish Cypriots and Turkish State of Cyprus are examples of how it is possible to maintain relations with peace and security without rejecting the conflict, respecting each others identity. Peoples all around the world should consider on this example imaginatively.

Günümüzde özellikle eski Osmanlı coğrafyasında ve etki alanında ortaya çıkan pek çok sorun uluslararası düzeyde ilgi konusudur. Bu sorunlar arasında Kıbrıs sorunu merkezi bir yer işgal etmektedir. Türkiye ve Kıbrıs Türklerinin çözümü ile Batı'mn istediği çözüm birbiriyle uyuşmamaktadır. Kıbrıs'ta sorun, doğrudan ve bir bütün olarak Batı ile Türkiye ve Kıbrıs Türkleri arasındadır. Bu nedenle Türkiye ve Kıbrıs Türk Devleti için "Kıbrıs sorunu"ndan değil, "Batı sorunu"ndan söz etmek gerekir. Adına "Kıbrıs sorunu" denilmektedir ama gerçekte sorun Batı için "Türk/Doğu sorunudur". Kıbrıs Türkleri ve Kıbrıs Türk Devleti bu çatışmayı reddetmeden, karşılıklı olarak birbirinin kimliğine saygı duyarak ilişkilerin barış ve güvenlik içinde nasıl yürüyebileceğinin somut bir örneğidir. Bu örnek üzerinde bütün dünya halkları yaratıcı bir biçimde düşünmelidir.
