New Turkish Literature, from Tanzimat onwards is a literary process that has been existed on social basis. This has been continued through the Rebuplican era, and sometimes tended to concern the external social and political developments. The 'Independence Movements' of the African nations that had been arisen during the post-war period were one of these scopes of the New Turkish literature. These struggles, were supported by the poets of II. Yeni, a literary circle that had been assumed as the dominant figure of 1960's, and in particular, Tunisian and the Algerian revolts were mostly reflected to poetry of II. Yeni. Sezai Karakoç and Cemal Süreya were the outstanding pens of this tendency. However, reflections of this phenomenon could also be found among the poems of Turgut Uyar, Ece Ayhan and İlhan Berk.
