Abstract (2. Language):
Increasing concern to use of fructose as a sweetener in human diets and ethanol as a fuel additive has increased the wet-milling process of corn. Wet corn gluten feed (WCGF) is the most important by product of the wet-milling process. Till last 10 years corn gluten feed has been used mostly after drying. But the cost of drying has increased the interest of using WCGF. WCGF is mainly consists of corn bran and step liquor that remained after wet milling process. It nearly contains 40-60% dry matter (DM) and has 15-25% crude protein (CP), DM basis. It seems to have positive effects on performance and digestibility of some nutrients in beef cattle. Adding WCGF in varying amounts of DM in dairy cows has been concluded to have increased the milk yield without negatively affecting any other parameter. It has improved the fermentation characteristics of maize silage when ensiled together with varying ratios. Furthermore, affirmative effects have been postulated to reduce incidence of subacut acidosis in cattle. The aim of this article is to review the use of wet corn gluten feedin dairy and beef cattle diet with regardto the literatures that published recently.
