Some new data southern Menderes massif and structurai interpretation

Abstract (2. Language):
The basement rocks of the Menderes massif, often referred to as 'the core'
consist mainly of augen-gneiss, granitic geniss and migmatites. An obscured unconformity
exist between the core- and the overlying cover consisting of two sequences.., The first, metamorphic
sequence at the base consist of garnetif erous-schist, muscovite^quartzite, chlorite-
chloritoid schist, calc-schist and phllite. Another obscured, unconformity seperates this
sequences from the overlying slightly metamorphic sequence which starts with basal quartzconglomerates
grading upward to phylliles, dolomite, crystalline limestone, red limestone, turbiditic
sandstone and greywackes with exotic blocks. The age of 4Jie cover rocks ranges from
Devonian to Paleocene.

Gnays» gözlü gnays, granit ganys ve migmatitten oluşan Menderes masifi çekirdeği üzerine,
zor saptanabilen bir dîskordans ite1 in.ce taneli gynays, granattı şist, muskoviüi kuvarsit,
Marit-kloritoidli şist, kalkgist ve fillattan alıngan, metamorf ik bir istif gelir. Bunların üzerine
de goğun saptanamayan bir dîskordansla, tabanda, kuvarsa çakıltaşı içeren filial, dolomit,
kristalime kireçtaşı, -kırınızı kireçtaşı ile eksotik blok içeren türbiditik kumlası ve grovaklar
gelmektedir. Bu iki istiften oluşan örtü birimlerinin yaş sının, Üst Devoniyenden, Faleosen'e
kadar uzanır.. Olasılı. Töras kuşağına ait olan ve masifteki kayalarla deneştirüerek yanal
devamlılığı saptanan birimler, ekaylı bir yapı oluşturarak tekçe ve/veya tümü ile masifin
örtüsü, üzerine itilmişlerdir.
