yıllarda durayh izotoplar jeokimyası,, cevher taşıyan akışkanların doğasının ve cevher oluşum süreçlerinin kavranmasında büyük ilerlemeler kaydetmiştir. .Maden yataklarının kekemi ve oluşumlarına ilişkin problemlerin çozümünde güçlü ve etkin bir yöntem olduğunu kanıtlamıştır. Cevherli akışkanların ana bileşeninin su alması ve farklı 'kökenli suların kendilerine özgü 02 ve H2 izotopik bileşim, değerleri göstermeleri nedeniyle, çözelalerdeki suyum kökenini ve tarihçesini açıklamada O2 ve H2 izotopları yaygın olarak kulanılmaktadır. ÇeşUU maden yataklarının izotopik bileşimleri hakkındaki güncel çalışmalar magmaâk sokulumların sadece» çevre kayalar içerisinde deniz suyu veya meteorik suyun dolaşmayla oluşan bir hidrotermal dolaşım sistemini yürüten bir ısı kaymağı olarak hareket ettiğini göstermiştir.
