The aim of this study is to identify the volunteering perception about the experience as a participant in the Basketball World Cup Spain 2014. Ninety volunteers from Seville venue completed questionnaires. A survey was developed, it was composed by 26 items and divided into six dimensions: entertainment, efficiency, training evaluation, job satisfaction, satisfaction with the choice, perceived value, and future intentions. The findings indicate that volunteers punctuated all the dimensions with a positive trend, noting especially the entertainment, satisfaction with the choice, perceived value and future intentions. In addition, participants expressed their satisfaction with the experience. Furthermore, statistically significant differences were found according to some demographic variables as gender, occupation, educational level and income level. The volunteers considered satisfactory their experience in the World Basketball Championship 2014.

El objetivo de este estudio es conocer la percepción del voluntariado sobre su experiencia como participante en la organización de la Copa del Mundo de Baloncesto España 2014. Para llevar a cabo el trabajo se recogió una muestra de 90 voluntarios en la sede de Sevilla. Se elaboró una encuesta compuesta de 26 ítems distribuidos en seis dimensiones: entretenimiento, eficiencia, evaluación del programa de formación, satisfacción con las funciones del trabajo desempeñado, satisfacción con la elección, valor percibido e intenciones futuras. Los resultados mostraron que los voluntarios puntuaban todas las dimensiones con una tendencia positiva, sobre todo las de entretenimiento, satisfacción con la elección, valor percibido e intenciones futuras. Asimismo, se mostraron muy satisfechos con la experiencia vivida en este evento deportivo. Por otro lado, se encontraron diferencias estadísticamente significativas según el género, la ocupación, el nivel de estudios y el nivel de ingresos. Los voluntarios de Sevilla consideran satisfactoria la experiencia vivida en el Campeonato del Mundo de Baloncesto 2014.
