While Modern Finance School which argue that investment decisions are taken rationally loses its importance, Behaviourist Finance School which argue that investments decision are taken under the influences of some psychological process has come to the forefront. According to the School, investment decisions can be taken as a result of process which is not rational. The aim of this study is to determine whether entrepreneurs in Turkey and Azerbaijan take decisions under the influences of the aforementioned intellectual taboos, inadequacies and emotions. For this purpose, a survey has been carried out among 384 people in both countries. According to the survey results, some factors such as income and education level, marital status, age and gender have an influence on investment decisions of the entrepreneurs.

Yatırım kararlarının rasyonel olarak alındıklarına dair Modern Finans Teorisi zamanla esnemiş ve yatırım kararlarının bazı psikolojik süreçlerin etkisi altında alınabileceğini gösteren Davranışçı Finans ekolü ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu ekole göre yatırım kararları rasyonel olmayan süreçler neticesinde de alınabilmektedir. İnsanlar rasyonaliteyle bağdaşmayan bazı düşünce kalıpları ile duygu ve sezgilerin etkisi altında yatırım kararları alabilmektedir. Bizim çalışmamızın ana amacını Türkiye ve Azerbaycan’daki yatırımcıların, yatırım kararlarını alırken, yukarıda bahsi geçen bazı önyargı, duygu, sezgi ve yanlış düşünce kalıplarının etkisi altında hareket edip etmediklerini tespit etmektir. Bu amaçla bir anket formu düzenlenip her iki ülkede 384 kişiye uygulandı. Analiz sonuçlarına göre yatırımcıların bazı kararları üzerinde gelir ve eğitim seviyesinin, medeni durumun, yaş ve cinsiyetin farklılaşmaya neden olduğu tespit edildi.
