Isolation and Identification of Motile Aeromonas Species in Ground Meat Consumed in Kahramanmaraş

A total of 50 ground meat samples including 39 beef and 11 lamb ground meat were purchased from different supermarkets and butchers in Kahramanmaraş and were analysed for the presence of motile Aeromonas species. Isolation and identification of motile Aeromonas spp. in ground meat samples were also studied. According to the findings, 1 of 11 lamb ground meat (9.1%) and 10 of 39 beef ground meat samples (25.6%) were found to be positive for motile Aeromonas spp. Totally 11 of 50 ground meat samples (22%) were determined as positive for motile Aeromonas spp. In 10 positive beef ground meat samples, 6 of them were identified as Aeromonas hydrophila (60 %) and 4 were as Aeromonas caviae (40 %), respectively. One positive lamb ground meat sample was identified as Aeromonas hydrophila. Aeromonas sobria could not be isolated from the samples.

Kahramanmaraş’ın değişik semtlerindeki kasap ve marketlerden alınan 11 koyun ve 39 sığır kıyması örneğinden oluşan toplam 50 kıyma örneği Aeromonas spp. varlığı yönünden incelenmiş ve hareketli Aeromonas türlerinin izolasyon ve identifikasyonu yapılmıştır. Çalışmada incelenen, 11 koyun kıyma örneğinin 1’inden (%9,1), 39 sığır kıyma örneğinin 10’undan (%25,6) olmak üzere toplam 50 örneğin 11’inden (%22) hareketli Aeromonas türleri izole edilmiştir. Hareketli Aeromonas türleri tespit edilen 10 sığır kıyma örneğinin 6’sından (%60) Aeromonas hydrophila, 4’ünden (%40) Aeromonas caviae identifiye edilmiştir. Hareketli Aeromonas spp. tespit edilen 1 koyun kıyma örneğinde ise Aeromonas hydrophila’ ya rastlanmıştır. Örneklerden Aeromonas sobria izole edilememiştir.
