Recent studies show that there is a change and transformation which affects basically all people and all organizations. Leadership approaches has taken its share from this change affecting businesses in all areas. This paper is prepared to understand the concept of servant leadership which changes people's perspectives to life in all areas, provides a positive, constructive changes. And also domestic and foreign literature is searched for this purpose. This servant leadership approach have different characteristics beyond all human characteristics and have high impact power to attract people. This study is important because there is a descriptive, exploratory studies deemed to be inadequate in this area.

Günümüzde yapılan son araştırmalar temelde insandan başlayan ve onun yer aldığı tüm örgütleri etkileyen bir değişim ve dönüşüm yaşandığını göstermektedir. Her alanda faaliyet gösteren işletmeleri etkileyen bu değişim rüzgârından liderlik yaklaşımları da nasibine düşen payı almıştır. Bu çalışma, insanların hayata bakış açılarını değiştiren, her alanda olumlu, yapıcı değişimleri sağlayan hizmetkâr liderlik anlayışının, örgütler tarafından iyice anlaşılmasını ve benimsenmesini sağlamak amacıyla yerli ve yabancı literatür taraması sonucunda hazırlanmış bir çalışma olma özelliği taşımaktadır. Alıştığımız tüm insani özelliklerin ötesinde farklı özelliklere sahip, insanları etkileme gücü yüksek olan bu liderlik yaklaşımı konusunda yapılan tanımlayıcı, açıklayıcı çalışmaların yetersiz olduğunun görülmesi üzerine bu eksikliği gidermek amacıyla yapılan önemli bir çalışmadır.
