Abstract (2. Language):
The study was carried out to determine the factors which influence the success of the students in the courses of statistics and econometrics and to contribute to the improvement of the academic educational quality of the students by studying these factors in parallel with the results obtained. Faculty of economics and administrative sciences, Atatürk University, was chosen for study population. A total of 318 students who are fourth class students from the department of economics and third and fourth class students from the department of econometrics were chosen since they already took these courses previously. As it is commonly encountered in the developing countries, the students who were chosen for the study which would reflect the factors influencing the success in the courses of statistics and econometrics were unwilling to answer the survey form. 132 of 318 surveys were not filled, or omitted from the study as they contained incomplete information. As a result, the data obtained from 118 surveys were used in the study. The survey consisting of 75 questions were applied to the students, which was prepared to determine the demographical features of the students and the factors taught to affect the success of the students. The answers given to the surveys were evaluated by making use of SPSS packet program.

Üniversite öğrencilerinin istatistik ve ekonometri derslerine ilişkin başarılarını etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi ve elde edilen sonuca bağlı olarak bu faktörler ile ilgili çalışmalar yaparak bireyin akademik eğitim kalitesinin iyileştirilmesine katkı sağlamak amacıyla yapılan bu araştırmanın kütlesi için ilk etapta Atatürk Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi belirlenmiştir. İkinci etapta ise istatistik ve ekonometri derslerinin her ikisinide daha önceden almış oldukları için iktisad bölümü 4. sınıf öğrencileri ve ekonometri bölümü 3. ve 4. sınıf öğrencileri olan 318 kişi seçilmiştir. Gelişmekte olan ülkelerde sıkça karşılaıldığı gibi istatistik ve ekonometri derslerinde başarıyı etkileyen faktörleri yansıtacak bu çalışma için seçlen öğrenciler anket formunun cevaplandırılmasında isteksiz davranmışlardır. Doldurulası istenilen toplam 318 anketin 132 tanesi doldurulmamış veya eksik bilgi içerdiği için çalışmadan çıkarılmıştır. Sonuç olarak çalışmada 186 anketten elde edilmiş olan veri setinden yararlanılmıştır. Öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerini belirlemek ve başarılarına etki edeceği düşünülen faktörleri tespit etmek amacıyla hazırlanan 75 sorudan oluşan anket öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Anketlere verilen cevaplar SPSS paket programından yararlanılarak değerlendirilmiştir.
