In most studies, it was stated that while high job satisfaction has positive effect on employees’ job performance, motivation, organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior and job involvement; it has negative effect on their intentions, absenteeism and perceived stress. Therefore, determining the antecedents of job satisfaction and their effect size is important for the organizations. In this study, it is aimed to find out the effect size of person-organization fit on job satisfaction. This study was conducted on 212 employees in heavy equipment machinery sector. In addition to quantitative analyses, 21 out of 212 employees were also observed and interviewed. It was found that person-organization fit has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction.

İş tatmini yüksek olan işgörenlerin; iş performansı, motivasyonu, işi benimsemesi, örgütsel bağlılığı, örgütsel vatandaşlık davranışı artarken işe devamsızlığı, algılanan stres ve işten ayrılma niyetinin azaldığı birçok araştırmada belirtilmiştir. Bu sebeple iş tatmininin öncüllerinin ve etki derecelerinin belirlenmesi örgütler açısından önem arz etmektedir. Bu araştırmada, kişi-örgüt uyumunun iş tatmini üzerindeki etki derecesini ve yaş ile iş tatmini arasındaki ilişkiyi belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Ankara ilinde faaliyet gösteren iş makineleri sektöründe çalışan toplam 212 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemi oluşturan 212 kişiye anket uygulanmış, içlerinden 21 kişi seçilmiş, iş ortamında davranışları gözlemlenerek performans çıktıları incelenmiş ve bu kişilerle mülakat yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik tahlili yöntemi ile tahlil edilerek işgörenlerin ölçek maddelerini doğru algılayıp algılamadıkları araştırılmıştır. Analizler sonucunda, kişi-örgüt uyumu ile iş tatmini arasında anlamlı ve pozitif bir ilişki olduğu, yaş arttıkça iş tatmininin arttığı ve anket maddelerini işgörenlerin doğru algıladıkları tespit edilmiştir.
