Abstract (2. Language): 
The Turkish-Polish contacts, which began in the 13th Century, moved to a serious stage in the period of the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman-Polish relations, initially characterized mainly by wars, afterwards turned to a period of balanced politics of the two countries. The rea-son was that the Kingdom of Poland stood between the Germans and Russians. The Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Poland were both threatened by the Germans and Russians. In the 18th Century, Poland was split up between Russia, Austria and Prussia. Thereupon the Ot-toman Empire did not recognize this situation. This study examines the process of establishing relations between the Republic of Turkey, which emerged after an honourable fight under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the Republic of Poland, which was estab-lished after the First World War. This study will investigate under which conditions and principles the two modern states were in rela-tion with each other, in contrary to the periods of monarchy marked with conflicts. Turkish archives and documents are the basis for this study.

Türklerin-Polonyalılarla karşılaşmaları, 13. yüzyılda başlamış ve Os-manlı İmparatorluğu döneminde ciddi bir noktaya taşınmıştır. Ön-celeri daha çok savaşlarla anılan Osmanlı İmparatorluğu-Polonya Krallığı ilişkileri, daha sonra her iki devlet açısından denge siyasetine dönüşmüştür. Çünkü Polonya Krallığı, Germenler ile Ruslar arasında kalmış, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu da, O dönemde her iki toplumun oluşturdukları devletler tarafından tehdit edilmiştir. 18. yüzyılda Po-lonya’nın Avusturya, Prusya ve Rusya arasında paylaşılması ve orta-dan kaldırılması üzerine, Osmanlı İmparatorluğu bu durumu tanımamıştır. Ancak biz çalışmamızda, geçmişi hatırlayıp hatırlatmamıza rağmen Polonya halkının emperyalizme karşı uzun mücadelesi sonucu I. Dü-nya savaşı sonrası kurmuş olduğu Polonya Cumhuriyeti ile yine onurlu bir mücadele sonucu Mustafa Kemal Atatürk önderliğinde ku-rulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti arasındaki ilişkilerin inşa edilme sürecini inceleyeceğiz. Monarşik, yayılmacı ve çatışmalı dönemlerden ziyade modern ve milli devletlerin hangi şartlarda ve hangi usullerle devletlerarası ilişkilerde bulundukları irdelenecektir. Bu çalışmayı yaparken Türk arşivleri ve kaynakları esas alınacaktır.
