Needs Analysis for Special Education: Example of Sinop

Without any discrimination, it is too difficult to raise our students who trust themselves, have dependence feelings without having any devotion to their family, the most important of all, and have gratitude to the power who support in struggle with all difficulty. In this study, it was aimed to introduce special educaiton institutions in the city centre of Sinop. Need analysis was made in relation of these institutions. Studies about participating children who need special education to the society in Sinop were examined. There are 9 education institutions which belong to only private persons in the city centre of Sinop and its districts. There are also 2 schools which belong to government in the centre. In this study, 4 private education institutions were examined in the city centre of Sinop. By taking necessary permissions for this study, physical characters of private education institutions and students' who are educated distribution numbers according to their excuse groups were found out. After observation and interviews, it was deduced that private education institutions in Sinop don't meet the expected needs as suitable for the standards. Especially, private education institutions' physical conditions and the staff's insufficiency in terms of both quality and quantity were found out after the research.

Hiçbir ayrım yapmaksızın tüm öğrencilerimizi öncelikle kendilerine güvenen, ailelerine bağımlı olmadan bağlılık duyguları yaşatan ve her şeyden önemlisi tüm zorluklarla mücadelede kendisine destek olan güçlere boyun eğmeden minnet duyan bireyleri yetiştirmek özel eğitimin en önemli amaçlarındandır. Bu çalışmada Sinop İl Merkezinde bulunan özel öğretim kurumları tanıtılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu kurumlara ilişkin olarak ihtiyaç analizi çıkarılmıştır. Özel eğitime muhtaç çocukların topluma kazandırılması yönünde Sinop'ta yapılan çalışmalar incelenmiştir. Sinop merkez ve ilçelerinde sadece özel şahıslara ait toplam dokuz eğitim kurumu bulunmaktadır. Merkezde ise ayrıca devlete ait iki okul daha bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Sinop Merkezinde bulunan dört özel eğitim kurumu incelenmiştir. Gerekli izinlerin alınarak yürütüldüğü çalışmada özel eğitim kurumlarının fiziksel özellikleri ve eğitim alan öğrencilerin özür gruplarına göre dağılım sayıları çıkarılmıştır. Yapılan gözlem ve görüşmelerde Sinop'ta bulunan özel eğitim kurumlarının standartlara uygun bir şekilde beklenen ihtiyacı karşılamadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Özellikle özel eğitim kurumlarının fiziksel donanımları ve çalışan personelin hem nitelik hem de nicelik açısından yetersizlikleri araştırma sonunda ortaya konmuştur.
