Abstract (2. Language): 
In this study we examine how unemployment rates affected suicide rates in Turkey for the period of 1980-2014. To this end we have examined relationship between unemployment and suicide by using VAR Analysis. As a result we found bidirectional causation between unemployment and suicide.

Bu çalışmada günümüzde ekonomik ve sosyolojik açıdan sorunlara yol açan işsizlik olgusu ve intihar arasındaki ilişki 1980-2014 yılları aralığında Türkiye baz alınarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmamızda Türkiye’de işsizliğin intihara neden olup olmadığı VAR Model yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Elde ettiğimiz sonuçlara göre 1980-2014 yılları aralığında bu iki olgu arasında çift yönlübir nedensellik ilişkisi saptanmıştır.
