This paper analyses that Total Factor Productivity (TFP) and its effects on growth for Turkey by using Collins Bosworth Variance Decomposition for the period 1968-2006. The three different models for TFP estimations are regressed by OLS method. To determine the effect of TFP levels are used to make an econometrics analysis by regression estimation method and the decomposition of sources of growth method. As a difference from other studies, in this paper the demand fluctations and steady-state economy are taken into consideration; as a result TFP has a positive effect on growth. Besides the other indications of the study we find that the 30 percent of the economic growth is arised from TFP increases. Additionally, according to the calculations derived from different models, growth is resulted from the physical capital accumulation than other production factors.

Bu çalışmada 1968-2006 dönemi yıllık verileri kullanılarak Türkiye için Toplam Faktör Verimliliğinin tahmini ve Toplam Faktör Verimliliğinin büyüme üzerine etkisi Collins Bosworth Varyans Ayrıştırması kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. TFV'nin tahmini için üç ayrı model En Küçük Kareler yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen TFV düzeyle¬riyle Türkiye'de TFV'nin büyüme üzerinde etkilerini tespit etmek için regresyon tah¬min yöntemi ve büyümenin kaynaklarına ayrıştırılması yöntemini içeren ekonometrik bir analiz yapılmıştır. Diğer çalışmalardan farklı olarak talepteki dalgalanmaların ve durağan durumdaki bir ekonominin göz önüne alındığı bu çalışmada, TFV düzeyinin büyüme üzerinde pozitif yönde etki ettiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ortalama olarak, ekonomik büyümenin %30'luk bir bölümünün TFV artışlarından kaynaklandığı çalışmada yer alan diğer bulgular arasındadır. Ayrıca, farklı modellerden elde edilen hesaplama¬lara göre büyümenin diğer üretim faktörlerine göre daha çok fiziki sermaye biriki¬minden kaynaklandığı tespit edilmiştir.
