Abstract (2. Language): 
The aim of thisstudy is to examine the relationship between concentration and profitability in Turkish deposit banking. In line with this purpose it is investigated that the traditional hypothesis (strcture-conduct-performance: SCP) or the efficientstructure hypothesis is valid for this relationship. Utilizing 24 deposit Money banks operating in Turkey data for the 2006-2013 period and using panel data techniques it is found that there is a pozitif relationship between the market share and profitability of banks. Moreover, the results support that the competition in deposit banking is high and it is one of the most important determinants of profitability.

Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye'de mevduat bankacılığında yoğunlaşma ile kârlılık ilişkisini analiz etmektir.Bu doğrultuda yoğunlaşma-kârlılık ilişkisinde geleneksel hipotezin mi (yapı-davranış-performans: SCP) yoksa etkin yapı hipotezinin mi geçerli olduğu araştırılmıştır. Türkiye'de faaliyet gösteren 24 mevduat bankasına yönelik veri kullanılarak ve panel veri yönteminden yararlanarak piyasa payı ve kârlılık arasında pozitif bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bunun yanısıra sonuçlar mevduat bankacılığında rekabetin yüksek olduğunu ve ayrıca rekabetin kârlılığın önemli belirleyicilerinden biri olduğunu göstermektedir.
