Abstract (2. Language): 
Regional integrations have been important tools in the adaptation of Turkish Economy to free market conditions and liberalization of Turkish foreign trade. Custom Union Aggrement, which has been implemented in the framework of full membership to the European Union, is the most serious regional initiative of Turkey. It has played an important role in the expansion of Turkish foreign trade volüme. On the other hand it has increased importing tendency and dependence degree of production capacity to the exporting. Custom Union, which is being implemented in a period in which Turkey's full membership to the EU has not fulfilled, does not cause the results stated with theoretical approaches.

Türkiye ekonomisinin serbest piyasa koşullarına uyarlanması ve Türk dış ticaretinin serbestleştirilmesi sürecinde bölgesel birleşmeler önemli araçlar olarak görülmüştür. Avrupa Birliği'ne tam üyelik çerçevesinde uygulanmakta olan Gümrük Birliği Anlaşması, Türkiye 'nin bölgesel girişimlerinin en ciddi olanıdır. Son otuz yıldan beri Türk dış ticaret hacminin genişlemesinde önemli rol oynamış, buna karşın ithalat eğilimini ve ihracata yönelik üretim kapasitesinin bağımlılık derecesini artırmıştır. Türkiye 'nin Avrupa Birliği'ne tam üyeliğinin henüz gerçekleşmemiş olduğu bir süreçte uygulanmakta olan gümrük birliği, teorik yaklaşımlarla ifade edilen sonuçları doğurmamaktadır.
