The developments such as effective markets after trade liberalization, high efficiency and removal of barriers in front of international trade increase competitiveness of cost and change wage levels. It is still discussed whether foreign trade effects on wages. The aim of the study is to examine the together with increasing openness after trade liberalization, effects of changing income distribution on wages. In this study, with using a model which has been supplied from both theoretical and practical literature, is analyzed effects of openness on wages using ADF and KPSS Unit Root Test, Johansen Cointegration Test and Error Correction Model on Turkish economy during the period of 1988:Q1-2010:Q4. Effects of openness on wages has been studied seperately for sub sectors of Turkish Manufacturing Industry. It has been found out that openness has a negative effect on wages within periods examined.

Ticaret liberalizasyonu sonrası görülen etkin piyasalar, yüksek verimlilik, uluslar arası ticaretin önündeki engellerin kalkması gibi gelişmeler, maliyet rekabetini arttırmakta ve ücret düzeylerinde değişimler yaşanmaktadır. Dış ticaretin ücretler üzerindeki etkisinin ne yönde olduğu ise hala tartışma konusudur. Bu nedenle çalışmanın amacı ticaret liberalizasyonu sonrası artan dışa açıklık ile birlikte gelir dağılımında yaşanan değişimlerin ücretlere etkisinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada gerek teorik gerek uygulamalı literatürden sağlanılan bir model ile Türkiye’de 1988:Q1-2011:Q4 dönemine ait üçer aylık verilerle Genişletilmiş Dickey Fuller (ADF) ve Kwiatkowski-Philips-Schmidt-Shin (KPSS) Birim Kök Testi, Johansen Eşbütünleşme Testi ve Hata Düzeltme Modeli kullanılarak, dışa açıklığın ücretler üzerine etkisinin varlığı ve ne yönde olduğu analiz edilmiştir. Dışa açıklığın ücretler üzerindeki etkisi Türkiye İmalat Sanayi alt sektörleri için ayrı ayrı incelenmiş ve incelenen dönemler itibariyle dış açıklığın ücret üzerinde negatif bir etki yarattığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
