THE RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN EMPLOYEES’ PERCEPTIONS OF ORGANIZATIONAL POLITICS AND THEIR POLITICAL BEHAVIORS

The purpose of this study is to research the reciprocal relationships between employees’ perceptions of organizational politics and their political behaviors. In order to realize this purpose, a survey for collecting data on the following subjects is conducted: a: within the context of organizational politics perception, political perceptions directed towards self-interest, going along to get ahead, organization policies and practices, supervisor and co-worker behavior and pay and promotion practices; b: within the context of political behavior, levels of tactics for hierarchy and putting pressure and constituting support (network) and c: demographical qualities of the participants on individual level . The results of regression analysis point out that there are mutual and important relations between political perceptions of employees and performed political behaviors in terms of various dimensions.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, çalışanların örgütsel politika algıları ile politik davranışları arasındaki karşılıklı ilişkileri araştırmaktır. Bu amacı gerçekleştirmek için a; örgütsel politika algısı kapsamında çıkarcılık, yükselmek için gerekeni yapmak, örgüt politikaları ve uygulamaları, üst’ün ve çalışma arkadaşının davranışı ile terfi ve maaş uygulamalarına yönelik politik algıları; b; politik davranış kapsamında hiyerarşiye- baskı kurmaya ve destek (ağ) oluşturmaya yönelik taktik düzeyleri c; katılımcıların demografik özellikleri hakkında bireysel düzeyde veri toplamak için bir survey araştırması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Regresyon analizi sonuçları, çalışanların politik algıları ile sergilenen politik davranışlar arasında çeşitli boyutlar açısından karşılıklı ve önemli ilişkiler olduğunu göstermektedir.
