In many countries around the world, police have been developing liaison programs with schools to establish a safe education atmosphere. The basic aim of police-school liaison programs carried out within the scope of these models can be considered as preventing the alienation of police from the society, which they have been serving, contributing to the development of liaison among the children, young and police, providing more positive approaches towards the police and authority, struggling against violence and crime in and around the schools. In this study, in accordance with the aforementioned aims and within the scope of community policing applications, the “School Police” project which can be served as a model for developing police-public liaison and which was developed by Đstanbul Sükrü Balcı Police Vocational High School will be discussed. From the point of the fact that education should start from the early ages, the project has a significant position in that it has aims such as; introducing the police organization to the students since their early ages, developing police-students liaison, providing safe environments in schools, making protective and preventive studies systematic. Moreover, it is a forward investment in that it enables our children, who will form the core of a safer society, gain abilities which will provide personal safety for them.
