Generally in this paper, summarized knowledge on multilevel inverters, carrier based sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) used in multilevel inverters and multilevel cascade inverter is given. Moreover, the circuit with IGBT semiconductor switches and supplying a three-phase RL load of a three-phase five level cascade inverter was simulated using SPWM technique in Matlab/SimPower Systems. Simulation results were obtained for different values of switching frequencies and load inductances.

Bu makalede genel olarak çok seviyeli inverterler, çok seviyeli inverterlerde kullanılan taşıyıcı temelli Sinüzoidal Darbe Genişlik Modülasyonu (SPWM) ve çok seviyeli kaskat inverter hakkında bilgi verilmektedir. Bununla birlikte Matlab\SimPower Systems’de kaskat inverterin 3-fazlı, IGBT yarıiletken anahtarlı beş seviyeli devresinin 3-fazlı bir RL yükünü beslemesi durumunda SPWM tekniği kullanılarak simülasyonu yapılmıştır. Simülasyon sonuçları yük indüktansının ve anahtarlama frekansının farklı değerleri için alınmıştır.
