SOYA YAĞI METİL ESTERİNİN MOTOR PERFORMANS KARAKTERİSTİKLERİ ve NOX EMİSYONLARI ÜZERİNDEKİ ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Publication Year:

Abstract (2. Language):
This article presents engine performance characteristics and NOx emissions values obtained from test results of a diesel engine operated on neat soybean oil methyl ester (SYME) produced from neat soybean oil via transesterication. It is determined by means of fuel test that heating value is lower, viscosity and density are higher for SYME compared to diesel fuel. Engine test results revealed that SYME leads to an avarege of 3.92% lower break power and increase in break specific fuel consumption (bsfc). NOx emissions increase with SYME. There was no problem observed about usage of the fuel for the duration of the tests.
