Abstract (2. Language):
In this study, a new binary integer programming model based on the Urban’s (1998) model for the U type assembly line balancing problem is developed. The model is compared with the Urban’s (1998) model, which is unique study in the literature, on several test problems in respect of the numbers of variables and iterations, and finally the model results are discussed.

Bu makalede, U tipi montaj hatlarının dengelenmesi problemi için Urban (1998)’ın modeline dayanan yeni bir 0-1 tam sayılı programlama modeli geliştirilmiştir. Model literatürdeki tek çalışma olan Urban (1998)’ın tam sayılı programlama modeliyle değişken ve iterasyon sayıları bakımından örnek test problemleri üzerinde mukayese edilmiş ve model sonuçları tartışılmıştır.
