AB GÜVENLIK STRATEJISI’NIN ABD GÜVENLIK STRATEJISIYLE MUKAYESELİ ANALİZİ

After the Cold War, under the conditions that the USA was a single super power in international system, it seemed that the EU approached international security issues and challenges with regard to the different management ways of them. The EU makes progress to become a political power which can effect international politics. It has endeavoured to strengthen this progress by means of the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the European Security Strategy. Within the context of this, the EU has determined different attitudes and methods from the USA in terms of international security issues. Firstly, the European Security Strategy and the USA Security Strategy are provided in this essay to reveal differences between them. Secondly, directions of the two security strategies are explored comparatively. After this comparison, the foundations of the European Security Strategy are examined. This study is concluded by investigating whether the existing content of the security strategy and attitudes of Europeans are sufficient for the EU in terms of providing internal and external security, internal unity and being a global power.
