The light machine gun is one of the important fire support weapon for infantry troops. While technological advancements improve the quality of weapons, they also help to increase the differentation of weapons. This differentation increases the number of alternatives in available weapons for organizations who are the customers of these products. At the same time the differentation of weapons complicates the problem of a decision making. There are a lot of criteria which affects the selection of weapon. In this study, the problem of selection the best light machine gun was solved with AHP. AHP is a multiple criteria decision making method which establish models through a process that contains both qualitative and quantitative factors.

Hafif makineli tüfekler, piyade birlikleri için önemli ateĢ destek silahlarındandır. Teknolojideki hızlı geliĢmeler, kaliteyi iyileĢtirirken, çeĢitliliği de arttırmaktadır. Bu çeĢitlilik, kullanıcı konumundaki kurum ve kuruluĢlar için mevcut seçenek sayısını arttırmakta, aynı zamanda karĢılaĢılan karar problemini daha karmaĢık hale getirmektedir. Bu tip problemlerin çözümünde Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemleri kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalıĢmada, en iyi hafif makineli tüfek seçim problemi, ÇKKV yöntemlerinden Analitik HiyerarĢi Prosesi (AHP) kullanılarak çözülmeye çalıĢılmıĢtır. Alınması düĢünülen alternatif silahlar ile ilgili kriterler belirlenmiĢ; gerekli anketler hazırlanıp uygulanmıĢ; Super Decisions 1.6.0 paket programı kullanılarak sonuçlar elde edilmiĢtir.
